Physician supervision and account setup for medspas
Precision Biologics sells only to licensed physicians and to medspas operating under physician supervision. The account is opened under the supervising physician's NPI number, which is checked against the public registry before any order is placed.
A medspa that operates across more than one location typically designates which supervising physician's account covers which site, and keeps that assignment documented internally.
Documentation to request before adding a product line
Aesthetic practices evaluating a new biologics line generally request the same documentation an orthopedic or pain practice would: a certificate of analysis for the lot, a donor eligibility summary, and confirmation that the lot cleared sterility testing and quarantine release.
For exosome products specifically, practices should also ask for the supplier's characterization data, since there is currently no FDA-approved exosome product on the market and no shortcut around reviewing that documentation directly.
Cold-chain and shelf-stable formats
Cryopreserved formats are stored at -80 degrees Celsius and shipped overnight on dry ice in validated containers, arriving ready for a practice's own freezer storage. Several formats, including lyophilized exosome products, are shelf-stable and do not require freezer space, which some smaller practices prefer for inventory reasons.
Verifying your regulatory posture
Whether a particular product and use case fits a practice's regulatory posture is a question for the practice's own counsel and the Nebraska medical board, not for Precision Biologics. We do not provide clinical guidance, dosing information, or protocol advice.
Physicians can request a peer-to-peer call to discuss documentation in detail before committing to an account.
FDA has stated there are no FDA-approved exosome products. Exosome products are generally regulated as biologic drugs under section 351 of the Public Health Service Act, not as 361 HCT/Ps. Purchase and clinical use decisions belong to the physician with their own regulatory counsel.
These products are not FDA approved or licensed for any disease or condition. Information is for licensed healthcare professionals and is not medical or legal advice.
Frequently asked questions
Can a medspa order directly, or does it need a supervising physician's account?+
Orders are placed under a licensed physician's NPI-verified account; a medspa operating under physician supervision orders through that physician's account.
Is there published pricing for Wharton's jelly or exosome products?+
No. Pricing is shared only with verified accounts.
What should we review before adding an exosome product to our practice?+
Request the supplier's characterization data and lot documentation, and confirm with your own counsel how FDA's current position on exosome products affects your purchasing and recordkeeping decisions.
